FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 25, 2026 | Toronto, ON, Canada — The Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF) is providing 100 Toronto-based entrepreneurs with fully funded access to its Business Financing Fundamentals (BFF) program, helping local business owners strengthen their financial knowledge and prepare for the decisions involved in building and sustaining a business.

Supported by the City of Toronto’s Business Incubation Grant (BIC) program, the scholarship initiative makes practical financial education available to eligible entrepreneurs who want to better understand their business finances, assess financing options and prepare for conversations with lenders and investors.

For many entrepreneurs, understanding how to finance a business is as important as developing the product, service or idea at its centre. Yet access to specialized business education and financial guidance is not universal. IEF’s BFF program addresses this gap through structured learning designed to help founders apply financial concepts to the realities of running their own businesses.

“We want entrepreneurs to have the financial confidence to build businesses with foundations that can support them, their families, their communities, and their customers for years to come,” said Catherine Adare, CEO of IEF.

“These scholarships remove the tuition cost as a barrier to improving financial literacy. We are grateful to the City of Toronto’s Business Incubation Grant program for supporting this work and helping us bring this opportunity to entrepreneurs in Toronto.”

The scholarships cover tuition for IEF’s Business Financing Fundamentals program, which provides education in business finance, financial planning and investment readiness. Participants can develop a stronger understanding of the financial information that informs business decisions and the preparation involved in pursuing external financing.

IEF welcomes applications from eligible entrepreneurs whose businesses are based in Toronto. Applications close November 30, 2026, and the program period runs through until December 31, 2026.

Organizations supporting Toronto entrepreneurs are encouraged to share the scholarship opportunity with their networks. IEF gratefully acknowledges the City of Toronto’s Business Incubation Grant (BIC) program for its financial support of this scholarship initiative.
