Volunteer (General) Expression of Interest

About the Role

The Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF) works at the intersection of financial literacy, investment readiness, and inclusive economic participation. As a volunteer with IEF, you will contribute to initiatives that support innovators and entrepreneurs, particularly those who face systemic barriers to access.

This is a flexible, skills-based volunteer opportunity. Rather than slotting volunteers into predefined roles, we take a tailored approach: we work with you to shape a role aligned with your expertise, interests, and available time. Whether you are looking to contribute a few hours per month or take on a more structured commitment, we aim to create a meaningful engagement that delivers value for both you and the organization.

At this time, we are particularly seeking volunteers with experience or interest in marketing, communications, and social media, as well as an individual interested in supporting or serving as a Volunteer Manager to help coordinate and steward our growing volunteer community.

In addition, our Events & Programming Committee is seeking on-the-ground volunteers willing to help with events locally in Toronto.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be defined collaboratively and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting marketing and communications initiatives, including content creation, social media planning, scheduling, and engagement

  • Assisting with brand awareness and audience growth across digital platforms

  • Providing strategic or hands-on support for campaigns, events, or program launches

  • Contributing professional expertise in areas aligned with IEF’s mission and current priorities

  • For the Volunteer Manager role: helping recruit, onboard, coordinate, and support volunteers; maintaining clear communication and documentation; and strengthening volunteer engagement processes

All volunteer roles are scoped based on your skillset, capacity, and availability, with clear expectations established at the outset.
