FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 5, 2025 [Toronto, Ontario, CANADA] – The Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation (IEF), a national charity dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and innovators from racialized and equity-deserving communities across Canada, is proud to announce the expansion of its Board of Directors. This milestone reflects IEF’s commitment to strengthening its leadership, deepening its impact and ensuring that the voices guiding the organization truly represent and reflect the communities it serves.
“As we enter the next phase of IEF’s growth, expanding our Board allows us to ensure we’re not falling back into the status quo, but courageously exploring any methods that deliver more impact for our CANIE (Canadian Innovator & Entrepreneur) network,” said Catherine (Chan) Adare, CEO of IEF. “Each of our new directors brings unique expertise, strategic insight and lived experience that will help shape programming and influence policy for the better.”

This expansion also marks a deliberate step toward more authentic representation in leadership. With a Board that increasingly mirrors the racial, cultural, gender, and lived diversity of the entrepreneurs IEF serves, IEF is now better positioned to make more informed connections and design programming that resonates deeply with its communities.
“This is a pivotal moment – not just for IEF, but for innovators and entrepreneurs across Canada. The world is changing: how we do business, where we do it and who gets access to opportunities is all shifting. We want to be involved in shaping what comes next and we’re creating a leadership team that reflects the very people we champion,” added Adare. “This diversity in thought, experience and perspective is critical to driving innovation and to dismantling systemic barriers in Canada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
